As the fastest growing chronic health problem in this country, diabetes affects 4% of the population or just over 1 million Australians. Chronic kidney disease is also on the rise affecting 1 in 10 Australians. But as a silent disease only a few will know they have it.
Kidney, Transplant & Diabetes Research Australia (KTDRA) is proud to support ground-breaking translational medical research that is helping to improve the lives of our family and friends suffering with these diseases. KTDRA’s aim is simple – to reduce and ultimately eliminate the high incidence of these chronic diseases in Australia and around the world.
By supporting vital clinical and laboratory research KTDRA is helping to drive better understanding of the diseases as well as take a leading role in the development and delivery of more effective therapies and improved care to patients with kidney disease, diabetes and those requiring organ transplantation.
Kidney, Transplant & Diabetes Research Australia is a disease specific affiliate of The Hospital Research Foundation with 100% of funds raised directed to improve organ transplantation and combat chronic kidney disease and diabetes in Australia.
