Hospitals
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) supports more than 250,000 people living primarily in Adelaide’s western suburbs. Opened in 1954, TQEH quickly established a reputation as a leader in medical research, performing Australia’s first successful kidney transplant operation in 1965.
We proudly support many services within TQEH including (but not limited to):
- world-leading clinical trials of treatments for neuroendocrine tumours
- palliative care both in hospital and at home
- cancer care through research and equipment
- heart disease research and clinical care
- clinical trials for osteoarthritis treatments
- creative therapies for people in general wards, living with dementia, in palliative care and more.
The new Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) opened in 2017 and provides a comprehensive range of clinical care to approximately 500,000 patients each year.
We proudly support many services within the RAH including (but not limited to):
- world-leading trials and research for heart condition atrial fibrillation
- improving patient outcomes for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease
- world-leading trials in emergency stroke treatments and clinical care
- helping older people transition from hospital to home
- world-leading treatments for diabetes, kidney disease and transplantation
- the establishment of the RAH Clinical Trials Centre
- creative therapies for people in general wards, intensive care, recovering from stroke and more.
The Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) is the leading care provider for children with acute and chronic conditions in South Australia.
We proudly support services within WCH including (but not limited to):
- a peer support program for families in paediatric palliative care
- a clinical trial to help prevent nut and egg allergies in children
- immunology research to assist understandings with COVID-19.
Fiona Stanley Hospital is the major tertiary hospital in Perth’s south metropolitan area and offers comprehensive health care services to adults, youth and children. It has 783 beds and offers:
- acute, general and specialist medical and surgical services
- subacute services including rehabilitation and aged care
- comprehensive cancer services
- state adult burns unit
- state rehabilitation service including ventilator dependent quadriplegic service and spinal outreach service
- state heart, lung and bone marrow transplant service
- emergency and intensive care
- mental health
- maternity, paediatric and neonatal services.
We are proud to support many units within Fiona Stanley Hospital including oncology, neonatal, and transplant and more.
Providing specialist hospital services, Fremantle Hospital plays a vital role in supporting the tertiary services of Fiona Stanley Hospital and delivers specialist services including mental health, aged care, and elective surgical services in the following specialties:

- geriatric medicine, including subacute services and rehabilitation
- general surgery
- orthopaedics
- mental health
- plastic surgery
- specialised hand surgery
- ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- gynaecological
- dental and maxillo-facial

As part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, the Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) is the major hospital servicing north and northeastern Adelaide.
We proudly support many services within LMH including (but not limited to):
- critical heart disease research and patient care
- maternity services, midwifery and newborn equipment
- mental health support for young people with depression
- indigenous healthcare scholarships
- better diagnosis techniques for bowel cancer
- a state-of-the-art audiology booth to aid diagnosis and testing for hearing issues
- free phone-charging stations in the emergency department.
As part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, Modbury Hospital cares for more than 400,000 residents of Adelaide’s northeastern community.
We proudly support services within Modbury including (but not limited to):
- complementary therapies for palliative care
- allied health activities and research such as physiotherapy
- support for nurses and other healthcare workers during COVID-19
- free phone-charging station in the emergency department.
Flinders Medical Centre services the southern suburbs of Adelaide and is co-located with the Flinders University School of Medicine and Flinders Private Hospital.
We proudly support services within Flinders including (but not limited to):
- improving cancer care for newly diagnosed patients
- supporting palliative care programs, therapies and staff wellbeing
- improving the care of older people in hospital with support for mental health, nutrition, and more.
Noarlunga Hospital provides a range of inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient services to communities in the south. The broader precinct provides a range of women’s and children’s services, infusion services and ambulatory services; many with a focus on chronic disease management.
We recently contributed $580,000 to redevelop the Whittaker Ward at Noarlunga Hospital. Learn more here.
The Jamie Larcombe Centre is a purpose-built veterans’ mental health precinct located at Glenside Health Service Campus, providing mental health and post-traumatic stress service to veterans.
THRF Group charity Military & Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) is co-located at the Jamie Larcombe Centre, as a world-class collaborative research institute focused on optimising the mental health and wellbeing of Australia’s current and former military members, emergency service personnel and their families.
South Australia’s country health network encompasses six geographical areas: Eyre and Far North; Flinders and Upper North; Yorke and Northern; Riverland Mallee Coorong; Barossa Hills Fleurieu; and Limestone Coast.

Research Facilities
The Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research (BHI) is the productive research arm of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and home to almost 200 researchers and research administrative staff. The BHI provides a dynamic, state-of-the-art research environment for vital ‘bench to bedside’ research and research training opportunities.
We proudly support all research programs at the BHI including (but not limited to):

- breast cancer
- bowel cancer
- virology
- aged care
- inflammatory diseases.
The Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB), an alliance between SA Pathology and the University of South Australia, is located in Adelaide’s BioMed precinct and carries out a world-class program of innovative research, making breakthrough discoveries into the causes, treatments and prevention of cancer.
We proudly support many research programs at the CCB including (but not limited to):
- breast cancer
- prostate cancer
- childhood cancer
- bowel cancer
- lung cancer
- leukaemia.
The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is South Australia’s first independent flagship health and medical research institute, home to more than 700 medical researchers tackling many different health issues.
We proudly support many research programs at SAHMRI including (but not limited to):
- cancer therapy at the new Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research
- aged care
- Parkinson’sÂ
- prostate cancer
- leukaemia
- indigenous health.
The Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC) is an international research node dedicated to developing and delivering metabolic phenotyping services to benefit the global population.
Its core research areas include precision medicine, Indigenous health, and precision nutrition and food.
